EDDIE LENIHAN photo of Eddie Lenihan

We welcome back Ireland's greatest storyteller, Eddie Lenihan, for his second Storytelling Café tour.

Considering the kind of fierce, often gruesome, stories he tells, particularly about the otherworldly in Ireland, one might be forgiven for thinking that he is one who exaggerates for effect. Nothing could be further from the truth. He is merely passing on what he has collected over the past thirty years, and is still collecting today, from an older generation whose knowledge of these things was far more vivid than ours because they were less distracted by the kind of clutter and trivialities that confuse us nowadays. And obviously enough people have taken note, because he is constantly being invited to the most unlikely parts of the world to tell these genuine Irish tales, both to live audiences and for TV. Nor have any of his many books, tapes, CDs been long out of print. Which in itself probably says something.
