GEMS OF CELTIC STORY

Our latest national tour features one of the giants of the British storytelling scene. Our most recent tours have been playing to capacity audiences in many places and this one is bound to be oversubscribed so book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Robin Williamson was founder in the 1960’s of the highly influential Incredible String Band – and during the 1970’s of the pioneering new Celtic-style Merry Band he was at the forefront of the storytelling revival during the 1980’s in Britain and America. He was the first to concentrate on the renaissance of bardic style storytelling with harp, developing the tradition in his unique style up to the present day.

The ancient spoken literature of Britain and Ireland comes alive with his Gems of Celtic Story tour. From the magic lore of the Celtic heritage Robin recounts the deeds of the ancestors at the dawn of the world – stark, strange, beautiful, violent and sometimes oddly humorous, the tales hint always at hidden truths and life insights.
